The ceremony of the Maaskant Prize takes place annually since 1978. This year we celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Rotterdam-Maaskant Prize with a series of Maaskant Dialogues.

In even years there the ceremony of the Rotterdam-Maaskant Prize takes place, a sum of 25,000 euros, to one or more persons who have distinguished themselves in a special way in the fields of architecture, urban design and landscape architecture through journalism, teaching and / or research activities.

In odd years, since 1985, the Young Maaskant Prize is awarded. The incentive prize of 5000 euro, a certificate and a grant for a communicative expression, goes to architects, landscape architects and urban designers of 35 years or younger.
